Since our Japan tour was postponed this year due to the ongoing pandemic I was able to catch up with Reiko and the fine folks at the Hankyu Festival in Osaka to chat about life, art & sharing aloha.
Want to see the full collection of prints and pick up and feel a poster before you buy? Then come see us at one of our many events this year. The full list of festivals, markets, and gallery signings are listed here.
As the summer heats up and the south swell fills in, the great folks over at Greenroom Gallery helped us throw a killer art gathering at the ever cool Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel. Noa Emberson and I put new and original artwork on display and enjoyed a night overlooking Diamondhead with everyone who came out.
That's a wrap! Six Greenroom Festivals in the books and it's always a blast to be challenged and inspired each year. If you're unfamiliar with the Greenroom Gallery, they're an awesome company with several galleries in Hawaii and Japan and they put on a yearly festival in both locations to celebrate surf, surf art, and music.
Here's a quick recap of our time at Made in Hawaii Festival 2017! We brought pallets to stand out and some tasty design to fit in with this annual food, beverage, and craft expo where everything for sale has been made right here in Hawaii.
One of our favorite events each year, the Haleiwa Arts Festival is full of North Shore goods and goodness. This year, I debuted some new modern vintage prints including China Man's Hat, and also debuted a new booth set-up featuring Haleiwa girl.
What an awesome time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones! I was honored to exhibit my art on April 27th at Greenroom Gallery in Waikiki at the International Marketplace. Also joining us was super talented resin artist Bree Poort. I released the new "Sunset Beach Wahine" print, a North Shore Oahu themed print with some tasty subtle reds and blues.
Thank you everyone for coming to see us at all of our summer events. It's been a crazy but fun summer here on O'ahu including the Made in Hawaii Festival, Haleiwa Arts Festival, Signing at Kahala Mall, and Trunk Show at the Disney Aulani Resort. I'm so blessed to be able to do what I love and look forward to sharing more creations with you in 2017.
We spent part of May in Yokohama, Japan exhibiting at the 2016 Greenroom Festival. Along with some amazing artists such as Christie Shinn, The Captain Surfs, Heather Brown, Donald Brink, Matt Allen & Susan Wickstrand (and many more), the event also had two days of music, food trucks, and retail booths for the surf industry. Japan, I'm already missing your food and hospitality.
Aloha friends! Come on out to Roberta Oaks on the night of December 1, 2015 on Pauahi street... I'll be signing prints, babies and more. There may just be some art on sale so you can have fun AND take care of your Christmas shopping... killing two stones with one bird!
